Bury & Ramsbottom Artweek

[ 18/05/2010; 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. ] Bury and Ramsbottom are establishing their inaugural Art Festival in 2010! Artists from inside and outside the region are joining together to display and sell their work. The main Art Exhibition will be held in two impressive locations; Bury Art Gallery and the Fusiliers Museum on Moss Street.

ShelterBox Team on the Ground: ‘There is no More Haiti’

Aid workers for the international disaster relief charity ShelterBox, now the largest Rotary Club project in the world, are on the ground in Port au Prince, Haiti. ShelterBox Response Team (SRT) members Dave Eby (US), Wayne Robinson (US) and Mark Pearson (UK) arrived in the island’s capital on Thursday, January 4 and have already been in contact with government officials, ACTED and Rotarians in the country.

Valentines Survival Guide (or is it?)

Yep it’s here once again and doesn’t it seem once Valentine’s Day draws near everywhere you turn all you see are a plethora of the ‘oh so cliché’ “single person survival guides.” As a single person, I find this to be a horrendous practice. A survival guide? Really, a “survival guide??” This is supposed to help? Survival guides are for desperate people lost in the wilderness, starving, freezing, and hunted by wild animals. Apparently that’s what I and my fellow singletons are to the non-single world: the metaphorical equivalent Bear Grylls!
