A & L Music Ltd opened its doors on 14th May 2011. Situated in the heart of Ramsbottom the store offers a wide range of musical instruments from guitars to flutes and everything inbetween. The store is named after his 2 children Alexandra and Laura, both musicians themselves.

Proprietor Steve Barlow has spent over 20 years as a professional musician and with over 10 years as a music teacher he decided to open the store trying to cater for local musicians and teachers needs.

Store offers a wide range of best selling music books, including some more unsual pieces. We pride our selves in offering a personal service, so if you can’t find what you are looking for we will be more than happy to obtain this for you.

Opening soon Ramsbottom’s very own music school based within A & L Music. Offering a full range of instrumental lessons including singing, aural training and theory lessons. The school will also be able to enter all their pupils for their exams if this is what the pupil would like to do. The store has all exam music for all boards.

As a saxophone and violin player himself, Steve aims to specialise in woodwind, brass and string instruments. But we also have a selection of guitars and some percussion accessories.

All instruments vary, from student entry level all the way through to professional level and the store will stock all accessories.
A & L Music also stocks a range of musical themed gifts ranging from socks and ties to mugs and glasses.

Their future plans are to include a Wind/Dance band for local adult students wanting somewhere to play in an ensemble without feeling out of their depths or self conscious about their abilities. Also we will be providing ensembles for weddings, parties and other functions.

Their opening hours are 9.30am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. 9.30am – 5.00pm on Saturday and also open Sunday’s when Ramsbottom is hosting an event.

Atelier Rose and Gray gallery and workshop is located at the heart of Ramsbottom village.

Chris Brook and his partner Alison recently opened the gallery in January 2011, we are a small independent gallery specialising in original prints and with some of them starting from just £25 they would make an ideal one off present. The gallery also houses some unique pieces and they vary in price ranging up to £3000.

We have a range of artists from local printmakers to Royal academy artists such as Sir Peter Blake, Stephen Chambers and Sandra Blow. We can also source artwork for you so if there is a piece of work or specific artist that you like, but can’t get hold of, then maybe we can help out.
