<p>The Grant Arms Hotel is situated in the centre of Ramsbottom and is steeped in history. Originally named &#8220;Top o&#8217;th Brow&#8221; it became &#8220;Grant Lodge&#8221; when the famous industrialist Grant Brothers adopted it as their family home. (William and Daniel Grant were noted in history as being the two characters that Charles Dickens based his &#8220;Cheeryble Brothers&#8221; upon in his novel Nicholas Nickleby). </p>
<p>In 1828 it acquired its present name and as such has been at the heart of the local community, popular as a pub, meeting place and venue for many local events. The perfect place to socialise, eat, drink and watch the world go by! The Grants Arms has a 60 person seated restaurant offering home cooked food daily. We pride ourselves on offering our guests quality wholesome pub food at great value prices. We have a new menu with all food prepared by former assistant to Great British Menu winning Chef!  Whether you are after a light bite or a meal for two, this is the place for you. Food is served Monday to Saturday 12pm – 9pm and on Sunday between 12pm – 7pm.</p>
<p>The Grants Arms offers a wide range of wines, spirits, draught products and locally sourced Cask ales are always available from the Moorhouse&#8217;s brewery.  We also offer a living flame open fire, sky sports showing all premiership and cup games and well appointed pool room, outdoor seating area and wi-fi.</p>
<p>This 3* English heritage hotel provides 14 beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms ranging from single, double and family room. We also have a honey moon suite for all our newly married guests. Every room comprises for a colour LCD  television with satellite channels or DVD, ipod docking station, direct dial telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, trouser press, iron and ironing board available on request.</p>

<p>The Grants Arms is steeped with authenticity, and has retained a lot of the original features dating back to the 1600’s, its close to Junction 1 of the M66 and would make an ideal venue or meeting place for business and pleasure.</p>

<p><strong>The Oaks is an outstanding public house set in the heart of Ramsbottom</strong>. </p>
<p>Having been closed for quite some time, prior to the arrival of the new tenants Andrea and Aiden Roberts, who took over in December 2010. The place has been given a new lease of life.</p>
<p>The people of Ramsbottom, and visitors to the town, can once again meet, drink, dine and be entertained. It has become one of the most social and lively pubs in the town, with entertainment or special food nights most nights. Andrea and Aiden have worked really hard in revitalising the newly re named pub “The Oaks”.  </p>
<p>The Oaks has been decorated throughout and now provides a modern and superb environment where young, old and singletons can be well looked after by the warm and inviting staff. Aiden believes customer service is the key to every business. They are open all day every day and provide five real ales including Thwaties Original, Wainwrights, Bomber, Nutty Black and a rotating brewery guest ale. </p>
<p>Delicious meals are available daily between 11am – 7pm in the dining area which caters for up to 50 people. Professional chefs have created a divine menu alongside Andrea who oversees the kitchen. Diners can choose from the extensive menu or the daily specials board.</p>

<p>Built in 1751 The Shoulder of Mutton is situated in the heart of Holcombe Village, on the west Pennine moors overlooking the Irwell Valley.  A known venue for cockfighting which took place on the premises until 1849.  The pub stands on the slopes of Holcombe Hill, where you can find the famous Peel Tower which is more than a local landmark it commemorates Sir Robert Peel, Prime Minister of Britain between 1841 and 1846, founder of the modern police force, (once named ‘Peelers’ and still referred to as ‘Bobbys’).</p>
<p>The village of Holcombe is a 10 minute walk away from the town of Ramsbottom, which is well known as the valley of Wild Garlic.  The pub is also famous for the starting point of the Holcombe Heritage Trail, a well known walk around the area.  Locals and visitors from miles around descend on Holcombe on Good Friday for the famous walk and egg rolling competition which as taken place for centuries.  Holcombe Village is a true Lancashire country village with a true English country pub – The Shoulder of Mutton.</p>
<p>The Should of Mutton sources all its produce from local suppliers and markets.  Some dishes may contain nuts and all weights are prior to cooking.  Alll our food is freshly prepared, please be patient with us at busy times.</p>
