(William and Daniel Grant were noted in history as being the two characters that Charles Dickens based his “Cheeryble Brothers” upon in his novel Nicholas Nickleby).

In 1828 it acquired its present name and as such has been at the heart of the local community, popular as a pub, meeting place and venue for many local events. We also offer a living flame open fire, sky sports showing all premiership and cup games and well appointed pool room, outdoor seating area and wi-fi.

This 3* English heritage hotel provides 14 beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms ranging from single, double and family room. We also have a honey moon suite for all our newly married guests. Every room comprises for a colour LCD television with satellite channels or DVD, ipod docking station, direct dial telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, trouser press, iron and ironing board available on request.

All the above prices include a full English Breakfast

The Grants Arms is steeped with authenticity, and has retained a lot of the original features dating back to the 1600’s, its close to Junction 1 of the M66 and would make an ideal venue or meeting place for business and pleasure.

About

The Oaks is an outstanding public house set in the heart of Ramsbottom.

Having been closed for quite some time, prior to the arrival of the new tenants Andrea and Aiden Roberts, who took over in December 2010. The place has been given a new lease of life.

The people of Ramsbottom, and visitors to the town, can once again meet, drink, dine and be entertained. It has become one of the most social and lively pubs in the town, with entertainment or special food nights most nights. Andrea and Aiden have worked really hard in revitalising the newly re named pub “The Oaks”.

The Oaks has been decorated throughout and now provides a modern and superb environment where young, old and singletons can be well looked after by the warm and inviting staff. Aiden believes customer service is the key to every business. They are open all day every day and provide five real ales including Thwaties Original, Wainwrights, Bomber, Nutty Black and a rotating brewery guest ale.

Delicious meals are available daily between 11am – 7pm in the dining area which caters for up to 50 people. Professional chefs have created a divine menu alongside Andrea who oversees the kitchen. Diners can choose from the extensive menu or the daily specials board.

Download the menu

The pub is child friendly and caters for the whole family. They offer live entertainment hosted every Sunday and a variety of themed nights throughout the week. This establishment is one not to be missed. For a full list of the weekly entertainments please see our Entertainment Programme.

So if you’re out and about in Ramsbottom or you want the best chocolate pudding in Lancashire then give the Oaks a visit.
