RamsbottomOnline's BIG WALK HOME

Rossendale Radio coming soon…

Rossendale radio is now only weeks away from broadcasting across the valley after receiving a grant from the Social Enterprise Loan Fund.

The fund awarded a £20,000 loan to Rossendale Radio, which is a not-for-profit venture, to invest in new equipment that will allow it to broadcast across an area that includes Haslingden, Bacup, Crawshawbooth and Ramsbottom.

“Without this money, there is no question our launch would have been delayed much much further,” said the radio station’s project manager, Tony Nixon. ““The funds from TSELF have given us a much needed financial lift which now means we can offer training and coaching via a second studio, as well as purchase the vital equipment needed to begin broadcasting

The Social Enterprise Loan Fund was itself given £500,000 from the North West Regional Development Agency last week to enable it to provide loans of up to £50,000 for social enterprises across the region.

“The grant from the NWDA and the ERDF is a great boost, and we are now looking forward to working with more social enterprises, charities and small businesses across the region that are unable to secure sufficient funding from mainstream sources,” said the fund’s regional director, Roy White.
