The Good Food Threesome…
The 2010 Good Food Guide was published yesterday and guess what? Ramsbottom has 3 restaurants listed….
Last year its readers voted Ramsons their restaurant of the year and this year the Good Food Guide has recommended its basement sister as well, The Hideaway. Ramsons score has risen from 5 to 6 (Six means ‘exemplary cooking skills, innovative ideas, impeccable ingredients and an element of excitement’) and is now listed in the top 50.
The other entry is Sanmini’s which is a relative newcomer to the Ramsbottom restaurant scene, the south indian cuisine restaurant opened just under a year ago and has taken the town by storm.
Of course there are lots more eateries in Ramsbottom to try and hopefully more will be added in the years to come. Overall its good for the town’s profile and gives a pat on the back for all the people that work hard to keep the standard of food high in this town

Yes all very nice I’m sure, but the Chippy in Stubbins gets my vote everytime. Don’t forget, this IS Lancashire.

I think the Chippy in Stubbins is not up to much at all, and lets be honest its not even in rammy!

Have to agree with Mr Taylor. The Chippy in Stubbins is the dogs nads and the only choice at the moment. There isnt a decent one in Rammy anymore unless you want soggy Yorkshire chips covered in foul tasting lard from the one across from the Church Gardens

You might want to try the chippy at Edenfield instead of Stubbins. The big difference is they obviously give a damn about the quality of the food and how they fry it.

The chippy at Stubbins is chippy heaven! Never liked the Wayward Tyke since it changed hands. If posh rammy folk won’t consider using it try calling the town St. Ubbins if it helps!

WOO_HOO, WAY_TO_GO it’s about time people started sticking up for the great English chippy!!
And for anyone’s information I have been a regular at both Edenfield and St Ubbins chippy’s LOl, for many, many years and both chippy’s rock my world (little bit of MJ there) Lol.
If u dont beLIEve me, just try them both out, I can promise you one thing and that is (You wont be running to the damn toilet after five minutes).
