Ramsbottom on the Silver Screen?

Local man Andy Remic, a former English teacher who gave up his job to pursue a career as a full-time writer now has aspirations of becoming the next Danny Boyle. For those of you who didn’t know, the man behind Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, 28 Days Later and Slumdog Millionaire is also a Lancashire lad, born in neighbouring Radcliffe in 1956.

3 years later and Andy, self proclaimed author of high-octane fast-paced kickass Fantasy and Science Fiction novels has run out of fingers on one hand to count the number of novels he has written. He is now enjoying a change in direction by producing a series of five feature films.

Chemical Man and Clockwork Vampire both contain scenes set in Ramsbottom and feature Peel Tower. However, the 37 year old has aspirations to make a full length film where he assures us that his home town will be more than just a walk-on part. Watch this space.
